I notice again today that the price of fuel at the pumps has risen by another penny throughout the Nuneaton and Bedworth area.
This is pure exploitation in my view. I am not in a position to say whether it is the petrol stations or the oil companies which supply them who are being greedy but it is easy enough to check that the world price of oil has not changed much lately due to the slackening of demand brought about by the so called credit crunch.
I think that this trend of price increases will continue if the strikes at refineries persist.
I also noticed today that several local garages have pumps closed off on their forecourts. Not unusual for individual garages but for several of them to be doing it at the same time.
How long before we see the next spate of shortages appearing in the press. They have given over the front seven pages of a daily newspaper to snow today because they do not want to report the real news of the day.
