BNP councillor cleaning Socialist Party filth from Barpool Ward

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is one of many that has said that fly posting is not an acceptable practice.  This was made well known to all political parties at a meeting before the elections and all parties accepted this apart from one it would seem.

On the evening before polling day Socialist Party posters appeared on several prominent positions within Barpool Ward, where I just happen to be one of the local councillors.

The photograph above is of a media box at the end of Barpool Road where I live and the one pictured left is at the end of Northumberland Avenue.  Both prominent spots where large volumes of traffic pass daily.  The bus stop around the corner from us on Tomkinson Road was also targeted for the Socialists illegal poster campaign.

I was not the slightest surprised when the Socialist Party candidate could not be bothered to remove his handiwork after the election.

They are not polluting this ward
with their filth!

Armed with a bucket of warm water, a rag and a wallpaper scraper I set out to remove this filth from the streets.

I am not best pleased to be removing fly posters from other political parties to be honest.  Even if they had been allowed they should have taken them off themselves straight after the election.

I am very pleased to have ridded the fair minded people of Barpool Ward of this graffiti nuisance.  If this had been British National Party fly posting I dread to think what our organiser would have said, obviously the Socialist Party does not care about the residents.

The local bus shelter was not spared.

Probably the most used bus shelter in the area this one sees its fair share of vandalism as the picture shows.  Graffiti is an antisocial eyesore that political parties should be combating not adding to.  The Socialists really should be ashamed of themselves.

I cannot claim all of the credit for today’s Barpool Ward BNP cleanup operation.

Debbie made it quite plain that she had not come along just to take the pictures.

Being seen out and about in the community is never a bad thing for an active councillor.  Whilst cleaning the bus stop I was approached by a lady who had an issue with the very existence of the bus stop, saying that since its installation it had been fire damaged and used as a graffiti board pretty continuously.

The media box shown at the top with seven posters on it looks much less offensive without its adornment of Socialism.

I was pleasantly surprised to be noticed but while scraping away I heard several comments of, “good job” and, “well done”.

If you were one of the people who passed comment in passing I would like to thank you.  This was by no means a pleasant job but it is nice to be appreciated.  Thank you.
