What a festival!
Eventful to get to with the usual soap dodging scum of the fascist UAF and communist SWP brigades blocking off the roads illegally but never mind. The slideshow below is of some of the fun that we had just getting to the RWB 2009.
As you can see from the slideshow above Derbyshire police did move the protesters on. What you cannot see from the slideshow is that it tool four hours before they took any action!
There is no excuse for this delay. The police I spoke to were very nice and perfectly willing to move the protesters. On more than one occasion they said that they had strength in numbers when it is required but were just waiting for the command from above.
Speaking about ‘from above’ the helicopter was up all day and evening. i do not know how much that contributed to the supposed £500,000 bill but I wonder of it was really necessary. The police were everywhere. Surely radios would have sufficed.
During the impromptu entertainment we had plenty of time to answer the children's questions. Who are they? Why are they screaming at us dad? What do they want? Why do they bother?
After the initial novelty had worn off and the questions had been answered (we had quite a political discussion) the children were bored but waited nicely for the unfortunate (one child's term), retarded (a different one), scumfuckers (mine) to be removed.
Before I go any further I would like to convey our thanks and real gratitude the residents of the road that we were stuck on. Once they realised that we were stuck they came out with trays of tea and biscuits. Toilets were made available and we were told in no uncertain terms that the British National Party was welcome it is, “the scum blocking the road that we don’t want”.
After the event last year when the police left the protesters went on a wrecking spree with gates, house names/signs, and windows being smashed.
This year Derbyshire police have apparently leafleted the area and guaranteed that this would be one of the roads kept open. Whoops. Residents were out taking pictures saying that they were going to ask for a council tax rebate.
While blocking the road and gathering re-enforcements the fascist scum chanted obscenities on and off throughout. Seig Heil salutes were in evidence from them and some of the dialogue was I think in Arabic. T-shirts were evident claiming for a free Palestinian state on the front and hateful to Israelis on the back. The number of Muslims amongst them surprised me but as their number grows I think that the original SWP/UAF leaders will find that the priorities change. The Islamists will only tolerate communists until they have numerical advantage I think. I may be wrong but that is my opinion.
Once inside the atmosphere was totally different as is evident from the slideshow below.
It was great to meet up again with friends that geography alone prevents us from seeing as often as we would like and having so many people that we know from our Regional groups/branches in one place.
I was happy to meet other nationalist bloggers that previously had only been links on the internet. Nice to meet you guys!
The ice cream was Cornish and soft. The stalls were vibrant and friendly. There was much to do and we did it. The little ones caught plastic ducks in a net and most of our children (Andrew feels too big now) threw themselves around on all manner of inflatable's.
It took us quite a while to get round all of the regional marquees and amuse/play with the children. After that we went to the political marquee to catch some speeches:
First up was Question Time. Not the usual questions in advance affair but answer what comes BNP style question time. Always lively these sessions and this one was no different. The session was hosted by Cllr Chris Beverley and composed Mark Collett, Nick Griffin MEP, Jonathan Bowden, Andrew Brons MEP and Peter Strudwick. A fine combination of nationalist talent if ever there was one. All questions were answered in full and the assembled crowd was impressed.
After Question Time came a break before the foreign nationalist speakers began:
Marc Abramsson from Sweden went on first. We have met Marc and his family at previous RWB’s and it is always a pleasure to see him again and hear him speak. Marc spoke about the progress of the nationalist movement in Sweden and how beneficial it is for groups from different countries to learn from each other instead of repeating lessons that have already been learnt elsewhere.
Roberto Fiore is an Italian Nationalist and former MEP. Roberto gave a very honest speech about the grave problems facing Italy and the radical solutions that Italian nationalists are proposing. he was pleased to be able to report that nationalistic feeling in Italy is growing. The public are working out for themselves that the country needs something different.
It was interesting to hear that although Italy is in the European Union the same as Sweden and Great Britain the problems facing nationalists are surprisingly similar and yet at the same time we have totally unique problems individual to each nation.
