Apparently I am a far right extremist and the community that elected me must be targeted. Interesting!
This first article, 'Far-right' areas to be targeted, is from the BBC.
White working-class areas will be targeted by the government in a bid to counter far-right extremism.
Communities secretary John Denham said about 100 council wards in England would be indentified for the scheme.
and the British National Party just happens to have approximately one hundred elected representatives. How convenient.
Measures could include meetings for residents to express concerns about immigration and ensuring councils are transparent about housing allocation.
Who is going to chair these meetings and who on earth do they think is going to turn up?
Mr Denham said: "The steady creep of extremism is fed by groups that seek to manipulate people's fears, spread lies and increase misunderstanding.
"This pushes people to the edges of society, creating a 'them and us' mentality that left unchecked will undermine and weaken our core values of tolerance, decency and fairness.
"We will bring a new focus in the toughest areas where the challenges are most acute and make sure unfairness, whether real or perceived, is tackled."
He added: "We will work across government to ensure that these communities are able to influence and access the opportunities which could make a real difference to their lives, in order to help address their concerns and allay their fears."
What rhetoric, “The steady creep of extremism is fed …”. The British National Party is not a monster. We are offering an alternative to the failed socialist ideology of successive Labour and Conservative governments. as for the, “core values of tolerance, decency and fairness”, yes please. I am quite certain that the, “focus”, that he wants to bring is quite simply an anti-nationalist pro-socialist focus. Of this there is no doubt in my mind at all. “We will work across government to ensure …”, oh I am sure that you will. It is the business of government his government to remain in government.
Does it seem to you as well that if the socialists are bringing the full force of government to bear on a nationalist party then we must be getting something right?
The second article, Ministers take far-right fight to estates, is from The Independent.
Each community will be targeted with "tailored" measures designed to steer them away from the far right. The tactics used will include:
Just let me bring this into perspective for you. I am a ward councillor on Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council in Warwickshire. A government department, which obviously has far too many resources and too much time on its hands, is going to target this area with a view to: -
*Holding "open and honest" discussions to allow residents to air grievances without being accused of racism, while tackling immigration "myths";
*Tackling segregation by bringing together people from neighbouring, but ethnically distinct communities;
*Focusing a £1bn new jobs fund on the areas, offering jobs and work experience for unemployed young people;
*Fostering more community leaders, who can help local authorities to respond to the concerns of communities;
*Forcing local authorities to be more transparent on social housing policies.
Let me save them some time. The first paragraph is bollocks. The Government Office for the West Midlands houses asylum seekers, it is nothing to do with either borough or county council.
Paragraph two: What segregation? Get a grip.
Paragraph three: Check my maths, £1,000,000,000 divided by 100 councillors is £10,000,000 per BNP area. We have two BNP wards in Nuneaton so £20,000,000 of government money is to be targeted because the people voted for the British National Party. Sounds like leafleting material to me.
For the last two paragraphs you can read, “Fostering” and “Forcing” as being the same thing, forcing. They already have community leaders, BNP councillors!
Social housing policy within the borough has virtually been contracted out to the UChoose scheme anyway. An explanation for the curious can be found on the council’s website here.
"Very few people would actually see themselves as white supremacists or white fascists," Mr Denham said.
Yes Mr Denham, including me.
Mr Denham has been a busy man, or at least much quoted recently. I do not normally read the website of the Associated Press of Pakistan believe it or not. It did however come up in a news search where i found this article titled: - The British Government to focus on Muslim communities
LONDON, July 31 (APP)‑The British Government is to launch a new initiative on greater inter‑action with the Muslim community and redress some of the current imbalances. Speaking at a news briefing Friday, the British Communities Secretary John Denham spoke of his priorities for the coming months on issues relating to race equality and cohesion.
He was conscious that to date the relationship between Muslim communities and Government has been too defined by a focus on tackling extremism and wants to take steps to redress the balance.
Denham noted good co‑operation that has been developed with the Muslim community on dealing with the issues relating to extremism and terrorism.
He said the Muslim community desired to communicate with the Government on issues other than extremism and terrorism.
Secretary Denham said the objections have been raised on labelling a recent Government policy as Preventing Violent Extremism as people think that such a term indicate them as a part of the problem.
Calling for a consistent and principal approach to extremism, Denham expressed his concern on the rise of British National Party, a far right organisation, that won two seats in the recent European Parliament election from northern England.
We have to be concerned about not just the votes that have gone to BNP but the latent support for the white supremacy extremism. We need to be consistent in tackling extremism there as well.
I am delighted that Mr Denham shares my well founded concerns relating to racial equality and community cohesion. He goes on to note the “good co-operation that has been developed with the Muslim community”, regarding extremism and terrorism from within the Muslim community. Again I find myself as delighted as Mr Denham.
Apparently the term, ‘preventing violent extremism’ leads people to, “think that such a term indicates them as a part of the problem”. Mr Denham of course rolled out the establishments favourite bogey man the British national Party as an example of a consistent approach to extremism. He then waffles off in to some supremacist fantasy then jokes that, “We need to be consistent in tackling extremism there as well”. If you ever return to la la Labour land Mr Denham then by all means, be as consistent as you like.
For those like minded people of all cultures, colours and faiths who live in the real world and rub along together quite nicely thank you I have a request.
Please go and peddle your filth elsewhere!
In Barpool ward for certain we do not need either your indoctrination techniques or your divide and conquer mentality.
