Passing of Cllr David Bryden

I did say that I would not post again on this blog until after the new year and I wish that it were so.

It is with regret that I have just read in an e-mail that Cllr David Bryden passed away after illness yesterday.  We have all known that David has been ill but Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council chamber will be poorer for his passing.

I have only known David as a councillor but he was one of the good guys.  Always happy to help a new councillor when he was a portfolio holder and interested in many things.  I shall remember David as a happy and outward looking man with an active mind.

I offer my deepest sympathies to any of his friends or family that come across this blog.

Happy Christmas!

merry_christmas_nativity

I am wishing you all a Merry Christmas now because there is no way in the world that I am blogging tomorrow.

We are a Christian family so obviously this time of year is precious to us.  I know that this site is read by Nationalists, many of whom are British National Party members and anti-nationalist people alike and also by local councillors from both of the larger groups, council employees and largely by the general public who find me on search engines or via links on other sites.

Members of the public are by far the most important people who pass by this piece of cyberspace and to them I say a special ‘Thank You’ for dropping by, many of you on a regular basis.  You are the people that this blog is written for!

This concludes my first year of blogging and I have thoroughly enjoyed it I must say.  I was not certain back in January that this blogging experiment would last but thanks to you it has.  I am grateful to anyone who has left a comment either agreeing or disagreeing with me.  Both are equally welcome!

Looking to the future I am toying with the idea of video blogging for certain posts which will broaden the possibilities and the effectiveness with which the messages are passed across.  This is but one new, to me, presentation idea for making the content of this blog ‘better’ in one way or another.

I have enjoyed the journey so far and I hope that you have too.

All the best for the festive season folks, enjoy the new year in which ever way suits you best and lets all get back down to the push and shove again in January with renewed vigour.

Press Release – Christmas Parking Ticket Chaos

Since coming to power on Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council in May 2008 the Conservative administration has contracted out a few things.  One of them is the collection of monies for car parking.

For the past few years December has been a ‘no fee on Sunday’ month.  Sunday trading has receded over the years and this is a seasonal initiative to make the town more accessible for residents and of course it gives a boost for traders.

I was surprised that there was not a publicity push this year as is normal and on the first Sunday’s of December I displayed a parking ticket as did others.  It is only last week that I saw in the local newspaper that December was indeed free parking on Sunday month.  What a cock up.  To make matters worse the very last Sunday their was a small notice away from the coin slot advising people that they did not need to pay on Sunday.  Some machines were blocked off at the coin slot but not all of them.  There were many people displaying tickets as normal.

Because of this I have sent out the following press release:

I have noticed that throughout the supposed 'Free Sunday Parking' month of December there have been many cars with tickets on display.  Indeed many people, myself included, were not aware of it and bought parking tickets as normal before seeing in local newspapers last week that seasonal Sunday parking was free for the month of December.  There were certainly no notices on the Co-op car park in Nuneaton for the first two December Sunday's.   This last Sunday there was a small notice and some of the machines had been blocked off but there were still quite a few drivers who had displayed tickets.  This lack of ability to organise a contractor to run a car park seems to me to be symptomatic of the manner in which this Conservative administration is running the council.

     Cllr Martyn Findley,

British National Party.

Only a short one but with luck it will fill a corner of a page somewhere.

Nuneaton Climate Change Conference – Shock Results!

Having been into Nuneaton today with Debbie we have had a climate change conference of our own.  A self convened working group of two.  Not a one hundred million pound plus bash of international so called dignitaries held at a posh international venue in Copenhagen this, just a no nonsense chat walking across a car park.

Agenda point 1: Which idiot changed the name from the farcical ‘Global Warming’ to the banal ‘climate change’.

We suspect vested interests of changing their marketing strategy in an attempt to negate the overwhelming public understanding that their data has been exposed as phooey.  With climate change it does not matter which way the temperature goes and it is a fairly safe bet that it will never be constant for longer than it takes to change direction on the graph.

Action: None possible.

Agenda point 2: It is freezing!

The naturally occurring and unstoppable matter of climate change may or may not be the reason but today in Nuneaton the temperature is decidedly on the chilly side of bloody cold.

Action: Do not moan and just get on with life dressed accordingly.

Advice that I suspect could quite possibly be passed along to some of these ecological activist groups that seem to be springing up to tell us all that the planet will burn and that it is our own fault.

Agenda point 3: How to help African nations.

Not much that we can do for them from a car park in Nuneaton but in the spirit of international co-operation we spared them some debating time, at no cost to the taxpayer, taking into consideration our perception of their needs and problems.

Action: Sell no more weapons on the continent, instead deliver only condoms and medicine.

Agenda point 4: Carbon footprint.

It is wrong to be as profligate with the world’s finite natural resources as the human race has been today and in the recent past.

Action: Embark on a buy British program.  Our children shout out in surprise if they spot ‘Made in England’ on a product.  certainly for foodstuffs there is no excuse.  every country should be encouraged by their citizens to grow as much food inside their own borders as they are able.

We do buy British where ever possible but this is a suggestion that we would like to roll out as far as possible.

Agenda point 5: Who pays the bill?

Points one and two need no extra finance.  Africa can self finance point three by diverting its immense (taken as a percentage of GDP) arms spending to buy condoms and medicine. Point four would not only reduce the world’s carbon footprint by reducing substantially the need for international shipping it would add demand to our own economy and stimulate some traditional manufacturing and agricultural growth into the economy.

No bill to pay then!

Footnote:

I have seen the photograph online somewhere of some of the influential world leaders sorting out an accord over a table with some pastry.

I propose that the venue of Copenhagen be used again this time next year but instead of the plush venue which makes them feel ever so important and far too comfortable all international diplomacy on the topic of climate change should forthwith be carried out on a freezing cold runway at the international airport with no press in attendance.  Without the press pack to dance for and with cold extremities I believe that the work could be completed much quicker and at substantially less cost.

Especially if the next wide bodied jet was due in!

Telling Porkies!

The Muslim chef who tried to claim compensation for being expected to cook pork products has had his case dismissed and been landed with a £75,000 legal bill after a colleague gave evidence in court that he had seen the chef eating bacon rolls and sausages.

A Muslim chef who lost a claim of religious discrimination against Scotland Yard after complaining he was forced to cook sausages and bacon faces a legal bill of more than £75,000.

Hasanali Khoja accused the Metropolitan Police of failing to consider his Islamic beliefs when he was asked to handle pork products as a catering manager at a police station.

The £23,000-a-year chef claimed suggestions by his bosses that he should wear gloves and use tongs left him 'stressed and humiliated'. Muslims are banned from eating pork under Islamic law.

But Mr Khoja, 62, lost his claim in May after a police employee told an employment tribunal how she saw Mr Khoja eat bacon rolls and sausages.

Not only is it nice to see a bit of justice taking place it makes me feel quite hungry.  Now where can I get a bacon batch?

Mercia Club Meal

Last night was the annual occasion of the Mercia Club Meal.  A Coventry and South Warwickshire dining club which raises money for the British National Party branch to use in their quest for electoral glory.

Unfortunately I forgot my camera but if anyone would like to send me some pictures I will pop them in below later.  Members and supporters met up in a period hostelry taking full advantage of the opportunity to catch up with old friends before the call went out that the food was about to be served.

A speech by Tom Gower, Branch Organiser preceded an excellent traditional three course meal with tea/coffee after.

Back to the bar afterwards of course for a good natter.

Catching up with old friends and making new ones.  What could be a better way to spend the last Saturday night before Christmas?

Truth Truck – An arresting sound?

As some of you will know from reading Simon Darby’s blog there was an incident with the Truth Truck in Coventry this week.  Taking his turn driving at the time was Coventry and South Warwickshire British National Party organiser Tom Gower with Regional Organiser Alwyn Deacon in the passenger seat.

Truth Truck with Tom GowerThe occasion for the visitation of the Truth Truck was the MP’s surgery of Bob Ainsworth.  Secretary of State for Defence and member of parliament with the distinction of having claimed the maximum amount possible in second home allowance in the year 2007-08 making him the joint highest claimant that year.  The very same Bob Ainsworth who, when questioned at a public meeting by Tom Gower, admitted that Tony Blair lied over the reasons for the war in Iraq.  In fact he went further by claiming that parliament had been fed lies by Tony Blair and that was the only reason that he voted for the war.

Armed with nothing more offensive than a compact disc containing festive Christmas carols and a microphone the freedom loving pair drove past the building announcing over the speaker system that the surgery of Bob Ainsworth and the Labour Party who have the blood of our soldiers on their hands as they took us into a war which they knew to be illegal was currently in session.

At the fourth time of passing Tom had to stop at traffic lights whereby the team were swamped by police and ordered to turn the music off.  The West Midlands Police then went on to threaten that if the team did not get out of Coventry they would be arrested for breach of the peace.

Truth Truck by Ricoh Arena with Tom GowerAlwyn protested the innocence of the lovers of liberty and pointed out quite correctly that they were doing nothing illegal.  The police then advised Alwyn that someone had phoned them and said that they were driving around ‘calling Bob Ainsworth a murderer!’  Fancy that.   Alwyn then asked for the policeman's own telephone number so that he could be contacted directly to rush to the defence of the defenders of free speech in the event that someone should call them ‘racists’ of ‘fascists’ so that he could arrest them for breach of the peace.

The police team followed the Truth Truck out of Coventry but were unable, because they were doing nothing wrong, to object to them stopping for these pictures outside the Ricoh Arena on the outskirts of Coventry.

This is another small victory for those who place a high value on freedom of speech, expression and the right to roam unmolested the highways and byways of this nation.

Press Release – Councillor Training

This week I attended the latest in a line of training courses organised by the officers of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council for the elected council members.

The course in question was a three hour session and the subject was ‘Fairness and Diversity’.  This is a compulsory session for elected members and as usual I was the only councillor present.

This is the normal course of events so I have written the following press release:

Each year within Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council there is training provided for elected members.  This year I have put my name down for many training sessions, quite a few of which have had to be cancelled because no other councillors wished to attend.  On all but one of the training courses that have been run I have been the sole councillor in attendance.  The course that other councillors did attend was 'Presentation and Public Speaking' which had half a dozen councillors.

Many of the training courses are provided by external professional training organisations at a cost of up to £1,000 per session with two sessions per course being the norm.  One in the early afternoon and the other later in the evening to maximise the possible attendance.  Not all councillors have other jobs so they have absolutely no excuse.

On December the 10th it was polling day for the Camp Hill by election and as usual all of the polling stations were manned by councillors from both the Labour Party and the Conservatives.  If they can find time for this then why can they not attend training?

This week I attended the 'Fairness and Diversity' training which is a compulsory session for all elected members.  Not only was I the only councillor in attendance I was congratulated by the trainer for being the first elected member ever to attend!

If the only course attended is 'Presentation and Public Speaking' then it is obvious to me that the other councillors on Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council only care about how they come across to the public in the newspapers and at election time and not a jot about how efficiently they perform their duties once elected.

     Cllr Martyn Findley,
     British National Party,
     Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council.

I will be very pleased if this is published because it will show the public just what commitment they receive for the faith that they invest in us at election time.

Some may be concerned that a British National Party councillor attended a ‘Fairness and Diversity’ session.  It was compulsory but I will be clear on this, I would have gone anyway.

If it was going to turn into a multicultural love in then I would have injected a sharp dose of reality to the proceedings.  As it turns out the session was nothing of the sort.  The incorrect thing to do would be to stay away.

The training provided on the day was well thought out, well presented and thought provoking.  Well worth the effort in attending.  The other councillors missed out not just on my company but also on an excellent training session which I thought could have been better described as ‘Interpersonal Communication Skills’ with a focus on think before you speak which is something that we all should do anyway.

I have no objection to offending people
by the roomful but it would be impolite
to do so by accident!

General Election – When?

I have been having a twenty minute tour of the BBC website and came up with two or three pieces that interested me.

First up is the date of the next general election.  In my opinion the date for the general election will be the same as the date for the local elections in May of 2010.

There are many theories out there as to why this is and is not the best date.  June is a popular choice with many and March is gaining prominence of late.

The reasoning for March seems to be that the gap in the opinion polls is closing and that going to the nation before the budget has two advantages: firstly the party that presents the budget has to be the bearer of bad news and secondly if that is the Labour Party many people will hold them responsible when polling day comes around.

June is the last possible month for the general election in 2010 and as such is the default date for the people who think that Gordon brown himself wishes for his premiership to last for as many days as possible.  He has not been elected while holding the office of Prime Minister and is unlikely to be.

May is my favourite for one reason alone.  The Conservative Party under the marketing man David Cameron with its wealthy backers can afford to run a general election whenever it comes.  The Labour Party however cannot.  Whatever money they do manage to cobble together from whatever source however dubious will be most effectively spent if the local government campaign can piggy back the national election campaign.

European Union climate pledge is a mockery

european union climate change

Apart from the obscene amount of money that we pay into the European Union anyway and the sum that has been ring fenced by the Labour Party for overseas development, and which the Conservative Party has pledged to double, there is now a not inconsiderable five hundred million pounds per annum to be found to make good on the pledge by our unelected idiot of a prime minister.  I was not at all surprised to read that Gordon Brown had pledged the largest amount.  As we are in the longest recession since records began, unlike several of our European neighbours, and there is no indication as yet as to when we will begin to climb out of it I would have been more appreciative if garrulous Gordon had kept his silly mouth shut:  EU agrees climate pledge that may boost Copenhagen

EU leaders have agreed to pay 7.2bn euros (£6.5bn; $10.6bn) over the next three years to help developing nations adapt to climate change.

Announcing the deal, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said all 27 EU member nations would contribute and that the EU was doing its "fair share".

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the UK's promise, at £500m ($800m; 553m euros) a year was the highest.

Read the remainder of the article only if you have a sound constitution.  The way in which the Euromentalist  environmentalists slavishly adhere to the agenda of global warming as a means of bringing about the global redistribution of wealth via not only these donations but new tax proposals as well is truly stomach churning.

Hizb ut-Tahrir barred from debate in London University

Now I will say from the start that I have no idea who this group are and that as far as I can remember I have not heard their name before.

The issue though is one of freedom of speech and upon this point I will speak.  First the beginning of the story on the BBC:  Hizb ut-Tahrir barred from London university debate

The University of London has cancelled the appearance of a speaker from an Islamic group that opposes democracy and integration into British society.

A representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir was due to appear at Queen Mary college in east London to debate Sharia law in the modern world.

But the group was told it could not take part after students campaigned about its "blatantly aggressive" views.

The university's union said the debate organisers acted to avoid controversy.

It does seem that a co-ordinated demonstration from a few students who currently believe that their politics lean to the left is all that it takes to prevent a university debating society from doing their job properly.  Though I defend their right to a freedom of protest I believe the right to a freedom of speech outweighs it (particularly in front of an invited audience) unless the organisation concerned has been specifically banned.

Further on in the article it suggests that the group could be banned in the future and it has been considered before but at the moment they are not.  As for the assertion from the university’s union that, “the debate organisers acted to avoid controversy” I dismiss that totally.  Surely the point in the invitation was to court controversy and rejuvenate interest in debating societies.

Rather than a no platform policy I believe that a free speech policy would serve the student body better.  Allow the representative of this organisation to speak for himself so that the students may form their own opinions based upon what they have heard for themselves rather than from their professors.

Home educators petition MP’s

There is a pretty constant push against the rights of home educators to do so in their own way.  Reports come and go and education authorities across the land have their own ‘interpretation’ on the law as it stands.

The Badman Report is the latest attempt to curtail the rights of home educators with suggestions that amongst others the council should have the right to enter a private home to ensure that learning is taking place.  Getting through the door may be problematic enough but should they make it no-one seems to know how they will judge the educational provision taking place within.  This is not popular amongst home educators:  Home educators in record petition of MPs

More than 70 MPs have handed in petitions from opponents of plans for the compulsory registration of families who educate their children at home.

Commons petitions from more than 120 constituencies were presented - a record on one subject in one day.

They call on England's ministers not to go ahead with plans for a register or with proposals for council officials to be given new powers to enter homes.

If anyone wants more information about home education the Education Otherwise website is a highly recommended place to start.

Organised crime controls Carbon Trading

Organised crime is a massive problem within the European Union and nowhere less so than within its institutions.  This is the organisation after all whose books have never been signed off by its own auditors.

The video report below alleges that organised crime is in charge of European Union Carbon Trading and explains how the process works.  Europol accepts that there is a significant problem.

Not bovvered now Tony?

I am blogging the video below purely for my own amusement.  You may have seen it before, I certainly have, but in light of the fact that he did not make it as president of the European Union I can say for a fact that I for one could not care less.

European Union democracy and withdrawal

EU democracy

I fail to understand why the British public is so complacent about the take over of Great Britain and Northern Ireland by the Federal European Union.  A political take over which was completed on December 1st.  The unelected leader of the European Union is Herman Van Rompuy from Belgium.

The total number of people who have voted for him in Belgium expressed as a percentage of the population of the European Union is apparently 0.008%.

I do hope that the members of the Labour, Conservative, Green and Liberal Democrat parties who read this blog are proud of their treason.

The British National Party remains the only decent political party registered with the electoral commission which would withdraw from the European Union at the earliest possible point.

For the Euromentalists out there who say that this is impossible and that we would be isolated I would encourage you to look to Norway who have comprehensively said ‘no’ twice.

Great Britain is still one of the worlds foremost trading nations, a regional military power with one hell of an effective military presence and a diplomatic service (not the bloody politicians) which is amongst the best in the world.  Isolating us would be unpractical und undesirable.  On the contrary we would find ourselves in precisely the right position geographically and politically to benefit from our position between the two north Atlantic trading blocks.

Forecourt prices

Petrol pump

The forecourt price of fuel is an often posted upon topic on this blog as I find the phenomenon of rip off Britain very irritating.

The price of fuel at the pumps is only one aspect of this but one which impacts upon the lives of the majority of us.

According to this piece on the BBC news website: Oil price drops to two-month low

The price of oil dipped below $70 a barrel, falling to a two-month low, amid continuing concerns over demand.

Strangely though it may seem to you I have not seen the price of petrol at the pump in the Nuneaton and Bedworth area dip at all.  Stranger still I find is that whenever the price of oil is reported to rise the price at the pump does go up.

Monopolies, profiteering, daylight robbery, robbery with violence.  Call it what you will.  I for one am sick of it.

Onwards and upwards

So the results are in and you have popped over to this slice of cyberspace to find out what I think of the result in the by-election for the Camp Hill ward of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council last night.

There is a decent write up of the figures on the BNP election results blog.

Labour Party

670

47.1%

British National Party

478

33.6%

Conservative Party

275

19.3%

339 postal votes were applied for with 205 of them being cast.  Turnout was about a quarter of those eligible to vote.

The British National Party share of the vote is down 2.5% from 2008 when the seat was won whereas the Conservative vote share is down by nearly 10%.

Bearing in mind that this party hardly ever wins by-elections where our councillor has stood down I think that the vote share has stood up rather well.  The Conservatives have reason for concern but that is their business.  It is a shame that the Green Party and the Liberal Democrats or the Socialist Alliance candidates did not stand in this election.  I believe that they stayed away (quite possibly by request) so that Labour could take a straight run at us.

I would like to thank the activists who helped throughout the campaign with leafleting and especially the canvassers.  A special thank you to those who braved the hours in the cold on election day.  Being a teller on a polling station is not the most glamorous pastime in December when it is cold and you would really rather be just about anywhere else.  There is always a number cruncher in the background somewhere processing the numbers from the polling stations, at least this person stays in the warm.  Whilst whipping in at least provides some exercise for the activists involved it is also one of the most crucial activities of the whole campaign.  One kind soul drove the Truth Truck around for us playing Christmas carols as he went.

Many thanks to all involved.

Alwyn Deacon was an excellent candidate as I always knew he would be.  On this occasion it was not to be.  The thing now is to focus on the future and for the party to continue its good work locally.

As you read this if there is an election on in your area please contact someone from the group/branch and offer your services.  There are plenty of jobs that need doing throughout an election.

There will be something for you to do!

Warwick and Bedworth marches against Fire Brigade cuts.

Yesterday there were marches held in Warwick and Bedworth to show support for the Fire Brigade against the closure and merger of Warwickshire fire stations.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the British National Party members who turned up at whichever march was closest to them.

They would not have been spotted by anyone who did not know them.  Not a knuckle dragger amongst them.  Properly dressed and well spoken.

If anyone from the other parties is wondering why there was not a public show of support by the BNP or if any journalist who reads this is thinking of printing it I would ask you to ask yourselves the following:

If a member of the Labour or Conservative party for example works for a government body, national or local, or enjoys employment with union representation are they likely to be dismissed for publicly displaying their political affiliations?  If a member of the British National Party were to be spotted doing such a thing they face being persecuted at work by their own union if not their employer themselves.  Persecution at work is a high price to pay for the public display of affiliation to a perfectly legal and respectable political party.

News and blog roundup

I am short on time at the moment so have taken a quick trip around the political section of the Telegraph newspaper and would like to share a few observations with you.

The first article to catch my eye, and I cannot think why, is this one titled ‘Councils given permission to push immigrants down housing queues’.  I can image that sounding good to many who are daft enough not to realise that it is merely an attention grabbing headline that cannot be carried out anyway because of our own regulations and the fact that on December 1st we ceased to be a Sovereign nation.

Dr David Kelly, poor bastard, has made the headlines again with two pieces about him on the same day: Dr David Kelly: doctors start legal action for new inquest  and Doctors demand inquest to 'prove Dr David Kelly was murdered'.  Dr David Kelly, in case you have forgotten, was the expert who said that there were no weapons of mass destruction and so conveniently for the Blair government of the time committed suicide.  Only nobody ever believed that he did and it seems that we were right not to.

Immigration is in the news again as it is exposed that Foreign IT workers exploiting immigration loophole.  Intra company transfers are the issue and a convenient way it would seem for tens of thousands of Indian IT workers to take work over here without having to bother with any safeguards.  Oh well!  I am sure they think we need the enrichment.

Gordon Brown: climate-change sceptics are 'flat-earthers' says the title and it says it all really.  I am just waiting for him to claim that Nationalism is the new witchcraft and have me burnt at the stake.  Must make certain to have something with garlic in it at the fundraising meal tonight.

The no brainer of a question ‘Is Tony Blair a war criminal?’ is asked.  Hr is according to my mate Tom Gower who asked the question of no other than defence secretary Bob Ainsworth at a recent local public meeting.  The current enquiry should not take too long should it.  Let us take a look at the facts right now.  Did the Prime Minister of this country tell a pack of lies with the sole purpose of plunging the armed services of this nation into a war with a sovereign nation that had not and did not and never has had the capability or the wish to do us any harm?  Hmmmm, yes he did!  Guilty as charged.  It will of course take a lot longer, cost a fortune and decide that no one was to blame and that the Iraqis have been the sad victims of a breakdown in communication.  a spelling error possibly.  Iran/Iraq it is only one letter after all.  Or maybe history will just be rewritten again so that the conflict never took place.  Convenient for the Labour party though impractical with the numbers of relatives of the many thousands of civilians who have died coming to these shores.

For the blog watchers amongst the growing readership of the blogosphere I would guide you towards Red Squirrel who has done a worthwhile piece on racial issues, Centurean2 who has taken on the topic of climate change refugees and the ‘possibility’ (tongue in cheek) that their numbers may increase.  The Right Rant has taken a look at the egging of Baroness Warsi in a manner of which I approve and lastly but by definitely no means least the Man Of The Woods blogspot is always worth a read and takes a light hearted look at Peter Mandelsons idea that you do not always get what you wish for.  A conclusion is quickly reached that I would vote for.

Have a good evening.

Bob Ainsworth - “Tony Blair lied to us"!”

Tom Gower, British National Party official and Coventry North East prospective parliamentary candidate, extracted this shock statement of truth from Mr Ainsworth MP at a public meeting at Aldermoor Farm Primary School in Coventry last night: -

Tony Blair Lied Over Iraq, says Labour’s Defence Minister Bob Ainsworth

Mr Ainsworth made the startling confession after being confronted at the meeting by BNP official and Coventry North East parliamentary candidate, Tom Gower.

Mr Gower used the public meeting to ask Mr Ainsworth, who became Secretary of State for Defence in June this year, “Now that it has been proven that there were never any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, do you accept that you and the whole of your wretched party are nothing but war criminals and have the blood of hundreds of British soldiers on your hands?”

Mr Ainsworth, clearly taken aback at the question, then told the public gathering that the reason why his party sent so many British soldiers to their deaths was because they were “fed lies by Tony Blair.”

Mr Ainsworth’s remarks will come as a huge embarrassment for the Labour Party, which has so far stuck by Mr Blair and even tried to get him elected as president of the European Union.

The public accusation by a cabinet minister that Mr Blair lied to the country and the world over the reasons for the Iraq war will no doubt cause more than a ripple through the labour Party and could even impact upon Mr Ainsworth’s future career.

The visibly shocked audience were then further amazed when Mr Ainsworth pleaded innocence by claiming that he did not know the truth because he “is an ordinary man from a council estate in Coventry. I don’t sit in ivory towers,” Mr Ainsworth said, adding that he was “sorry” about the deaths of the British soldiers in that illegal war.

Do not think for a second that this is all of it.  I recommend that you follow the link and read the full article for yourself.

Stockingford Academy proposals may still be overturned by minister

The article in today’s Nuneaton News gives us hope:

A DATE has been set for parents to meet with the government minister for schools to try and over-rule a controversial academy decision.

The Nuneaton News can exclusively reveal that a group of parents will meet with Vernon Coker, MP, the minister of state for schools and learners, in Parliament on Monday, December 14.

They are delighted that they will finally will be able to tell the powerful politician how they feel that Warwickshire County Council has ignored their concerns about closing Alderman Smith and Manor Park schools, and forged ahead with plans for the flagship academy.

I share their delight in being able to speak to the minister directly.  Certainly no-one has taken any notice of us at the consultation events which have taken place on several occasions.  When no-one takes a head count or bothers to make notes of objections you know that a consultation is just a sham.

The ladies who have spearheaded the campaign against the academy have my full respect for their dedication to the cause of ensuring that the children of Stockingford receive the best education possible in a manner that their parents would choose.  Two schools not an academy.

I could not help but notice again in this newspaper that although I attend and speak at all of the meetings and have given plenty of my own time to this campaign I cannot get a mention.  A councillor from a different party gets all of the praise.  Oh the joys of being a councillor for the British National Party.

Are Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council to join with Rugby council to share a Chief Executive?

I most sincerely hope not!

The calculation with regards the salary implications looks easy enough.  Hmmm, a nice fat saving.  Look a little deeper though and ask yourself why a borough has a Chief executive in the first place.

Please take my word for it that when I have been in to see the Chief Exec on matters her appointments board has been full.

How far can this council job sharing scheme be taken?  If we only need one Chief Exec do we really need two Monitoring Officers?  Would one Director of Legal Services surfice as long as the departments remained?  If we contract out all of the parks contracts could we not lose a highly paid manager in each authority there as well?

The answer to all of these questions and many more is possibly.  One thing is for certain.   Even with only eighteen months within the walls of the Council House you have my word on it that Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council will be poorer for it in terms of services and cash if these amalgamated job schemes are brought in.

Just for once i find myself in agreement with the leader of the Labour group in today’s Nuneaton News.

Press Release - Winterval

Having returned this evening from the seasonal Christmas Full Council meeting of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council very disappointed with the response to my members question.

After the meeting I spoke to the members of the press who expressed an interest so I have sent all of them the following press release:

Having been brought up in Nuneaton I remember the Christmas lights when the subject matter portrayed symbolised the Christian faith.  This has not been the case for years.  I have heard much of the celebration of 'Winterfest' by other councils, a change which is made in the name of not potentially offending anyone from other backgrounds.  I despise this cow-towing to political correctness.

Since being elected to the chamber of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council I have asked questions privately to officers within the council who have been uncomfortable talking about the subject and know of no plans to restore the Christmas images to the lights anywhere within the borough.

I do understand that as a nation we are very uncomfortable with upsetting people.  We have almost a national obsession with maintaining the status quo.  Over time I have asked quite a few people from different ethnicities represented within the borough, cerainly some from both the Mosque and the Gurdwara, and every single one of them says that it is daft that the Christians do not publicly make a show of celebrating Christmas.  I have not found a single member of the community of any colour or from any ethnic background who has disagreed with me on this subject.  I have however come across many fellow Christians who are offended by the removal of Christmas, and Christ in particular, from the festive celebrations.

I demand that traditional Christmas images be returned to the Christmas lights within this borough complete with a nativity scene!

To this end I entered the following members question at the recent Full Council meeting on 2nd December:

"I have been saddened again this year by the sorry state of the Christmas lights in Nuneaton which have had the Christianity removed over the years.  Apart from the 'Happy Christmas' message we do seem to have adopted a politically correct 'Winterfest' theme without making a public announcement.  I would like to know what plans there are to restore the Christian theme to the festive lights and when will there be a nativity scene on public display."

I was dismayed when the leader of the council responded by saying that the theme of the lights had been changed to a seasonal theme so as to represent the whole community and there are no plans to change this.  He has proven to me that I was correct.  The Borough of Nuneaton and Bedworth adopted a 'Winterval' theme years ago without even a press release.

It is a private wish of mine that the local press would learn how to correctly operate their computer software.  I do find that instead of pressing the ‘Publish’ button they instead seem to mix it up with the ‘Delete’ button.  I am sure that this is a concern that I share with many elected representatives and spokespeople of the British National Party nationwide.

They cannot publish me all of the time of course and it could just be that I am being a boring bugger.  You always have to accept the possibility.

Church of Climatology

church climatology

Would you not think that if it was your intention to use raw scientific data as a base for research which in the fullness of time was to be used to launch a raft of tax initiatives that you would keep the data safe?

Apparently not.  Since claims came out that the original data had been distorted people within the scientific community have been asking to see the raw data for themselves to recalculate the graphs.  Seems reasonable to me.

Oh dear, the original data has all disappeared!!!

From the British National Party website: - New “Climate Change” Shock: All Original Data “Thrown Away”

All the original data upon which the world’s leading “climate change” proponents drew their conclusions has been “thrown away” and is unable to be checked.

This shocking revelation has emerged on the eve of the Copenhagen “Climate Change Summit.” That meeting is likely to be little more than an anti-Western, and specifically anti-white, guilt hatefest which will see billions more taxpayers’ cash poured into the Third World.

According to reports, scientists at the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) have admitted that they have “thrown away” much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

The CRU is the world’s leading centre for reconstructing past climate and temperatures and has provided a large amount of the “scientific” underpinning of the climate change theory which essentially blames industrialised nations for what is claimed to be rising global temperatures.

The disposal of the data means that other scientists will not be able to check basic calculations which allegedly prove a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

I think that someone has something to hide.
