Facebook and MySpace accounts deactivated

I have deactivated my Facebook account and closed down my MySpace page for the duration of the election campaign.

I read on Simon Darby’s blog that he has already deactivated his Facebook account as I know he has in previous elections.  Last time I did not bother but to be on the safe side I have deactivated it this time around.

The MySpace page is more than a matter of deactivation it has been deleted.  I have nothing against MySpace as it was fulfilling its function perfectly but there were no options available that I felt comfortable with so it had to go.

It is a shame that there are so many ways that the social networking sites can be misused and abused by those that intend to deceive but sadly they can.

There are a few anti-BNP fascists on the internet who would go to the necessary lengths to embarrass a Nationalist candidate with propaganda formed through the practice of deception.  Those that would do it to me will now have to try a lot harder.  At least with blogging and micro blogging I have control over my own content.  Some may not like it but I have never tried to please everyone.

I have had a YouTube channel for a while which I shall promote as soon as I have something worthwhile to put on it.  again you have total control over the content of your own YouTube channel.  This is one of the online improvements that I have promised myself will take place at some point this year.  Some posts I feel would be that much better in a clip than they ever could be as text no matter how well written.
