Unusual wildlife movements

I saw a fox today by the canal bridge on Vernon’s Lane.  This surprised me because I do not normally see wildlife such as this unless I am out either later in the evening or for some reason out and about earlier than normal in the morning.

I assume that the animal is either very hungry or has been disturbed by some activity that has driven him out from wherever they normally go.
